In short, they are like traditional roof tiles, but capable of harvesting solar energy. However, dig a little deeper and you’ll realize just how smart they are. What makes them so smart is that they don’t need to be installed on the roof, they’re actually integrated within the tiled roof, which puts them in the technological classification of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). Functionally, this means you can cover more of your roof with solar panels, and aesthetically, they blend seamlessly into your home.
